I started out with a small one, Mini Mystery E (Emerald) when I saw how beautiful the progress pictures of Part 1a were. I adore queen stitches, and that the first part of the design had some nice big ones in my favorite color sold me. I also found out how nice it was to stitch them with silk.
I have yet to find the perfect bellpull hanger, though, so it is not yet finished-finished.
A couple of years ago, I saw Annette's (Annette's Acre) first two Waterlily Pond Quilt squares, and once again was in love. It took over a year to get up the courage to start one of the bigger projects, but I finally did. And I decided to make it an actual wallhanging quilt. I've stitched all of the squares and put the quilt top together, and now I need to start quilting it (click for larger view).
Back in March I decided to do another one of her designs that I've admired for a while - Desert Mandala. At the same time, she announced the Autumn Fairy as a companion to the then-soon-ending Spring Fairy. So I decided to start all three. Here is my progress on all of them so far.
Desert Mandala, part 1 progress as of last night
Spring Fairy, part 1 finished
Autumn Fairy, part 1 finished
Spring Fairy, part 1 finished
Autumn Fairy, part 1 finished
Thank you for letting me join you - looking at all of your progress and finish pictures has been VERY inspirational!!!!

Welcome, Melissa. :D It's impossible to not be a Chatelaine addict once you've stitched your first, huh? ;)
You have beautiful finishes!!! That quilt is stunning!!
Oh my Goodness how beautiful those are !! Welcome to CHatelaines Anonymous :)
Welcome, Melissa!
There is no way out of the 'Chatelaine trap'. All of Martina's designs have some detail that catches me.
So you are not alone.
I will join you with the fairys! Well, yes and the dragons gate... and.....
A warm Welcome Melissa : all your finishes are really beautiful and you are not alone :it is always very hard to resist Martina's designs :-) It is the same for me, many from Martina catch my eyes :-))
It is a wonderful addiction, Martina's designs are just gorgeous. I love what you have done with the waterlily pond quilt, it is looking beautiful. Keep enjoying your addiction, I know I enjoy mine
Your DGM is different than mine. Did you change out some of the colors? It looks great that way!!! I'm glad you've found your "addiction" with the rest of us, lol. I have DGM in progress and plan on buying A Fairy Garden, Evening in the Park, and Japanese Garden this summer.
Well first of all we are so glad you joined us! Second....OMG! That QUILT! Wow! Thanks so much for sharing your needlework. Truly gorgeous!
Thank you all for making me feel so welcome!!!
mdgtjulie - I'm using the colors that it calls for, but perhaps dyelots have changed? Of course, all the interior desert scene colors are dmc except for the few metallics and the black rayon. I'll have to take a look at yours now!
It's the color surrounding the pink flowers that's different from mine. Maybe I used the wrong color? God knows, it wouldn't be the first time!!! You can look here and see the difference. Of course, it could be that you put the beads on and I didn't...
Whoops, I forgot the link. DUH!!! Try again. Look here: http://mdgtjulie.multiply.com/photos/album/55#photo=9 and you'll clearly be able to see the difference!!!
Hmmmm... yes, I can see that yours is different from mine - I haven't yet put beads on in that area. I looked and I believe that symbol is Caron Waterlilies Grape (#158 at http://www.caron-net.com/tcolorV120to179.html). I've used the wrong color myself in the past - I consider it a "design personalization" :) And I love how yours looks too!
Thanks. Now I have to get my disc out, and look it up, lol. If I did use the wrong color, I'll have to frog it and put in the right color. Sigh...
