I chose the Chinese Garden because I really couldn't see stitching everything four times as much as I like the look of the finished project. I figure this gives me some of the same feel of her true mandalas but there is some variation. I started on Friday and this what I was able to get done over the weekend. I did change the fabric to a slightly more creamy linen rather than the antique white which I thought was too stark.

That is going to be so lovely - like the colour fabric that you have chosen!
You stitched a lot for a short period of time. This one is a favorite of mine - who am I kidding they're all favorites!!!
That's a great start. Looking forward to seeing more.
Fantastic start!
Looking forward to seeing more of this one :o)

Wow, you've already done a lot! I love the colors. This one is on my list for this year... I should probably finish one of my WIPs first though. :)
Thank you so much for being generous enough to post your Chinese Garden in stages from the beginning. There was no other place for me to go when looking for something to compare my beginning with someone else's work. I can zoom your pics to my heart's content. I've already used your pics for the bottom part of the clouds. The DMC conversion recommended a "turquoise" for that portion. Really?????
So looking at your pic I was able to find a blue silk in my stash. I didn't order the NPI threads.
So again thank you so much. This will be an enormous help on my journey for Chinese Garden.
