Some Works In Progress

A long overdue post from me!  It's been a few years since I posted here, but I thought it was about time that I updated you all on my progress on my Chatelaines!

First up is Celtic Maze:

The medieval town

I begin to stitch the medieval town. I stitch only with DMC threads and a few silk threads. Have a nice day!

My Medieval Town Mandala

The Medieval Town Mandala came up in my rotation yesterday and I had an absolute joy of a time working on it. Here is where I stopped yesterday:

I'm doing this on 32 Lugana in Truffle from Picture This Plus and every single stitch was just a pleasure. I've decided since my pattern is all black and white and the backstitching can be difficult to see that I'm going to do it and the specialty stitches as I go along to save my sanity a bit! Ha!

Introduction

Hello everyone! My name is Katy from Just A Little Stitchin' and I'm new to this group and just started my very first Chatelaine! I have several of these gorgeous patterns in my stash, it was hard to pick just one, but yesterday I started on The Medieval Town Mandala.

I will admit, I was intimidated before starting this piece. All the specialty threads, specialty stitches, beads and treasures, let alone the instructions that came with the design itself all made me a bit nervous, but once I got started, I loved every single stitch!

I'm doing this on 32 Lugana in Truffle from Picture This Plus. This was my first time using Needlepoint Inc. Silk, Gloriana, Waterlilies, Silk 'n Colors and Rainbow Petite Treasure Braid, which are all in this picture. I absolutely loved every single stitch and am looking forward to when I work on it next!

Can't wait to see everyone's progress and to cheer you all on!

Welcome Home!!

Tuesday I went to my framer and picked up my 2 latest finishes....     these are the first of my many finishes that were framed with shaped mats.....     my last framer (who closed her business) didn't have the equipment to do this and I am just thrilled to see my work in these shaped mats....

here are pictures of my newly hung friends.....     the first is Spring Knotgarden....    I just love the soft colors and delicate designs.....



the second piece is White Nights in St. Petersburg.....     I think this one turned out just super -- I love my framer's work.....



now I'm back to stitching my latest project -- Medieval Town Mandala.....     here's my progress on this one.....     long way to go!!    this is what 193 hours gets you.....

Another Introduction

Hi, all! I am Karen R in GA - a Buckeye (native of Ohio) transplanted to the wilds of north Georgia (not quite a 'burb of Atlanta). I have been stitching since the late 80s, when I got hooked on TW designs while in the USAF - her The Unicorn was one of the first pieces I completed, so learning black fabric & blends right off the bat kind of set the bar for my future stitching endeavors :)

I have completed 4 Chatelaines to date, including my all-time favorite project, Medieval Town Mandala:

The same year I finished MTM, I also finished Knotgarden, which is the first one I started, and really, the one that drew me in to these wonderful designs way back when. I have also finished MMM03, the small companion to Medieval Town:

And my 4th finish was Martina's Christmas mandala freebie, which I then made into a flat fold:

I currently have 15 WIPs; only 4 of them are Chatelaines, though (though I could seriously up that to 7 with almost zero effort). I just recently finished Part 5 of Tuscany Town Mandala (my Flickr album dedicated to TTM is here). I am through Part 5 on Secret Victorian Garden, too (album here), and Part 2 on Desert Mandala (album here). My 4th Chat WIP is Beaded Dragonfly Tile, which is on my list to FINISH this year; I am currently working on L*K Halloween Rules, getting it done, so I think Dragonfly will come out right after that. This is where it was when it last saw daylight (last year):

Kitted & waiting, I have Sparkly Hummingbird Garden and Deep Blue Sea, both 100% ready to go. I have one of the mini mandalas mostly ready to go, too. And then, of course, I have several other charts in need of kitting, including Watergarden (since Sarah just finished hers, mine is now whimpering louder from its drawer) and Convent's Herbal Garden. Needless to say, I foresee me being busy for years to come; if only that having to work for a living didn't cut into my stitching time!

New to the group

Hi everyone!

I'm new to the group, but not new to Chatelaine, as you'll soon see! Joyce has asked me to share some pics of (all) my Chatelaine WIPs!

I fell in love with Medieval Town Mandala probably nearly 6 years ago - it was the first Chatelaine design I ever saw and it completely blew my mind! I was lucky to be able to join the Yahoo group for it towards the end and so downloaded all the parts of the design. For the following Christmas and birthday, I got all the silk threads - I'd never stitched with silk before!

And for about 5 years now, I've had MTM as a WIP. In July 2010, I completed part 5.

However, over the last 4 years I've had 2 children, so stitching has had to take a back seat (I've been crocheting instead), but I've now dug out MTM again. I'm working on a basis of at least 12 stitches per day, which doesn't make for fast progress, but it's wonderful just to be working on it. In the last week I've done this -

As for my other Chatelaine WIPs, in a fit of enthusiasm, while I was waiting to get going on MTM, I started Watergarden ....

... and St Petersburg.

But they're now both hibernating until I finish MTM.

I also have a completed Tiny Rose Garden (which I love) which I completely forgot to take photo of!

In my stash, I also have at least Taj Mahal, Egypt Garden, Evening in the Park, and I've now signed up for the 15th anniversary design - am I crazy or what??

I've also been drooling over everyone's stitching here - they're all so beautiful!

More WIP pictures

I've been steadily working on Japanese Garden and I'm making great progress but I haven't taken a new picture yet. I am hoping to do so soon, but in the meantime here are some more of my older Chatelaine WIPs.

Waterlilly Pond (started when it was Mystery Quilt 1) parts 1-4 done, and part 5 in progress:

In terms of newer starts, I have Venice and Medieval Town in progress, but I haven't even finished part 1 of either of those. Here is my very paltry progress on those so far; there is so little completed on either project that it seems silly to have taken pictures already:





These projects, and Japanese Garden, round out all of my Chatelaine WIPs (including Taj and MMV that I posted previously). Hopefully I will get a new picture of Japanese Garden soon and continue to make some progress on the others eventually!

Here is my MTM as of a few moments ago.  I am really enjoying this piece.  I love the colors too, the blues are so vibrant!

Hello! And some previous finishes

Joyce invited me already a while ago to this blog and asked me to show my Chatelaine finishes and wips. I've been just so tired lately (had a flu, which passed quite quickly but left me so tired) that I haven't had the energy to update my own blog or to post here. But now I'm feeling a bit more energetic, and scraped together my so far Chatelaine finishes (I'll make another post about the wips).

My very first Chatelaine finish was Mini Mystery E, nowadays known as Emerald, followed by the rest of the series. I have stitched Emerald and Amethyst twice (the whole story is in my blog), and have Ruby and Sapphire as wips for the second time.

Between the Mini Mysteries, I finished Mystery VII, Autumn Dusk. I gave it to my mother, and later stitched her also Winter's Eve from the same series.

My first big Chatelaine finish, and the design that lured me to Chatelaines, was Alpine Seasons.

The next finish was Medieval Town Mandala.

Rachel's Intro

First, I need to say everyone's Chatelaines are just GORGEOUS!!!

My name is Rachel, I have been stitching for 21 years! I taught myself when I was ten years old.  I am a stay at home mom to an 11 year old and an almost 6 (in 2 weeks!) year old. My blog is Come Stitch With Me.  I am just starting to get into Chatelaine though.  I started a freebie awhile ago, but substituted DMC.  I will try to get it done soon, I think I am close to being halfway through it. 

Right now I am in the process of kitting up my very first full sized Mandala Garden - Medieval Town Mandala.  I also just got the chart for Egypt Garden, and DH told me to go for it and order the Chinese Garden!!!

Thanks for letting me hang out with you all! I am sure I am going to have a lot of questions for you very experienced Chatelaine stitchers!! :)
